He is one of the men Telemachus gathers in the dark for the secret departure. An older Ithacan, a friend of his father’s, one of the few who has been waiting to act. The boy does not have to explain. He has decided and moved as his father’s son. Peisistratus comes. So does young Peiraus. So does Eurylochus, who is good with rope. Five others. Men who remembered Odysseus. The ship is provisioned. The sail is furled like a promise. Athena gave more than words. Note: this is not the same person as Nestor’s son Pisistratus, despite the near-identical name, the retelling distinguishes the two.
Peisistratus
An old friend of Odysseus on Ithaca. Joins Telemachus's secret voyage at dusk, no questions asked. Distinct from Nestor's son.
